Little distractions can cause ever-increasing ripples

Who would have thought six months go….?

Our lives have changed so much in ways both small and large.

I remember how I felt

first time I wore a mask in public.

Now I feel quite naked without it…

Love the way neighbours take street-appeal seriously

Archie and I find the gardens to be a wonderful distraction.

Apologies to the owner of this lovely home.

Please let me know if you'd rather I not take such liberties and I'll remove the pics

The power of distraction

Take plenty of photos.

Photography using smart phone is so cheap and handy.

Capture plenty of those ordinary, run-of-the-mill photos and

the special ones will jump out at you

Where there is a will there is a way

  • personal mask / sanitiser

  • safe distancing

  • drive / ride / scoot / skate-by

  • parental supervision

  • commonsense

And, I bet they have names....jpg

The COVID-19 pandemic in Australia is part of a worldwide pandemic of the coronavirus disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first confirmed case in Australia was identified on 25 January 2020, in Victoria, when a man who had returned from Wuhan, China, tested positive for the virus.

Australian borders were closed to all non-residents on 20 March. Social distancing rules were imposed on 21 March, and state governments started to close 'non-essential' services.

The number of new cases initially grew sharply, then levelled out at about 350 per day around 22 March, and started falling at the beginning of April to under 20 cases per day by the end of the month. A second wave of infections in Victoria emerged during the period of May to June and is currently ongoing.

As of 24 September 2020, Australia has reported 26,983 cases and 861 deaths, with Victoria reporting the highest number of cases.

Based on the advice of Chief Health Officer, the Victorian Premier announced all government primary, secondary and special schools would move to remote and flexible learning and teaching from April 15, 2020. Victorian school will recommence at-school, face-to-face learning in term 4 (week beginning 5 October).

Restrictions are easing.

Schools are going back.

The end is in sight.

My big sadness...

I can't understand how we can so easily, as government ministers, political leaders and members of the Victorian community, accept the loss of so many of our family members in homes for the elderly.

I think there needs to be accountability...
